Wrap-Up

I think Apple did a terrific job on making much needed changes to the original Apple Watch. I personally would still not buy one because I don’t have a need for it yet, but all the new features are great additions that now make the watch a much more appealing device. I think this could very well be the turning point for not only Apple, but for the wearable industry as a whole. As long as newer features are added that work well and enhance the experience, I have no doubt that it will eventually be normal to own a smartwatch. It will obviously take some time for it to mature and for the price to be a little more reasonable, but Apple is going the right route, and even updating the first generation model with a better processor and for a cheaper premium than the Series 2. The name change also makes sense and I think Apple was smart about rebranding the original watch so as to not confuse its consumers. All in all, the presentation was well executed and I’m excited to see where Apple and Co. will take the wearable market!
